II. GRAMMAR (Ngữ pháp)

1. How often? (Có thường không?/Bao lâu một lần?)

Chúng ta sử dụng How often để hỏi về mức độ thường xuyên của một hành động mà một ai đó thường làm. Ví dụ, bạn có thường đi siêu thị không, Anh ấy có thường chơi cầu lông không...)

Mẫu câu: How often + do/does + subject + verb?

Ví dụ:

+ How often do you listen to music? (Bạn có thường xuyên nghe nhạc không?)

+ How often does he play tennis? (Anh ấy có thường xuyên chơi quần vợt không?)

- Để trả lời ta có thể dùng các trạng từ tần suất hoặc cụm trạng từ chỉ tần suất always (luôn luôn), usually (thường xuyên), often (thường), sometimes (thỉnh thoảng), once a week/twice a month/three times a year, everyday/every night...

2. Trạng từ chỉ tần suất (Adverbs of frequency)

Trạng từ chỉ tần suất dùng để diễn đạt mức độ đều đặn hoặc thường xuyên của hành động. Với mức độ thường xuyên nhất ta có: always (luôn luôn), rồi tần suất thưa dần theo thứ tự: usually (thường thường), often (thường xuyên), sometimes (đôi khi, thỉnh thoảng), never (không bao giờ).

Các trạng từ này thường đứng trước các động từ thường (go, play, do, read...); đứng sau các động từ đặc biệt (be, can, must, may...) hoặc đứng giữa trợ động từ và động từ chính.

Ví dụ:

- He is never late for school. (Anh ấy không bao giờ đi học muộn).
- Hung sometimes goes to the movies with his friends. (Thỉnh thoảng Hùng đi xem phim với bạn bè anh ấy).
- We don't often go camping. (Chúng tôi không thường xuyên đi cắm trại).
