Infinitive or gerund?​

1.Infinitive:
+ Some common verbs which are usually followed by a to-infinitive:

Hope plan intend decide promise agree pretend ask expect want fail offer seem
manage afford refuse appear

+ Some verbs are followed by a noun and then an infinitive :
Tell advise encourage remind invite permit
allow warn require order force ask
expect would like want need allow teach

2. Gerund:

+ some common verbs which are usually followed by a gerund>
Enjoy avoid consider appreciate discuss mind
delay mention suggest quit prevent finish
keep deny postpone miss feel

3. With some verbs :

Stop, remember, forget, try + To do/Doing something
 
Exercise 1: Complete the sentences. Use the correct form of the verbs in brackets:
1. The headmaster begins (arrange ) …………the matter at once.
2. She loves (swim )……..in the early morning.
3. The agreed (be )…………..present at the opening ceremony.
4. I don’t want (force )…….you (do)……..what I say.

Exercise 2: Tima and Luc are spending the weekend together.Tim is positive about everything while Luc is not. Complete their conversations using infinive or gerunds:
Tim: Let’s go (shop )…………….I like (watch )…………the crowds, and I would like (buy) ……………gifts.
Luc: Do we have to ? I hate (fight )………..my way through the crowds.
Tim: Then let’s go to the zoo. I enjoy ( look at )…………………..all the animals.
Luc: Are you sure you want (go ) ……………..to the zoo ? I don’t like (go )………………….. to the zoo. The animals smell, and there are so many flies.
Tim: Well, would you like (go )…………… to the top of the Sears Tower ? I enjoy ( be )………………….. high up. The view is great. I think you can see the lake from there.
 
Passive gerund or passive infinitive?

Passive gerund: being + P.II
Ex: I like being invited to your birthday party.

Passive infinitive: to be + PII
Ex: I would like to be invited to your birthday party.

Perfect Infinitve and Perfect Gerund:

Perfect Gerund: having + PII
Ex: I appropriate having listened to your sweet voice.

Perfect Infinitive: to have + PII
Ex: The heavy rain seems to have stopped.
 
Exercise 1: Supply an appropriate form of each verb: ( passive and perfect Infinitive and Gerund )
1. I don’t enjoy (laugh )………………… at by other people.

3. I expected (invite )…………. To the party, but I wasn’t,
