Planning the bedrooms A large part of a house is devoted to the bedroom area. The number of bedrooms to be planned is important. Often, houses are described by the number of bedrooms. Sales material will read " Three bedroom Colonial style house". A three-bedroom house has become the norm. Tow-bedroom houses are satisfactory for a couple with one child but are more difficult to sell. A three-bedroom house will accommodate a family with two children. This is the ideal situation because each child has a private bedroom. For a larger family, the rooms can be made larger and can easily sleep two children per room. The planning process for bedrooms is like that for other areas. Develop a list showing its uses. It will provide a sleeping area. In addition, it may serve as a place to sew, read, write, or relax to music Location The bedrooms are usually located together in a wing on one end of a house. A second-floor location provides privacy and quiet. Rooms for other quiet activities are located with them. This could include a nursery or study. noise control As bedrooms are planned, the control of noise from within the house and outside should be considered. Placing closets on inside walls is effective. Walls can be insulated. Even better control is achieved if studs are staggered when the house is build. Locate bedrooms away from the street to avoid street noises.
