1. Câu điều kiện loại 0
Cách sử dụng:
- Diễn tả một sự việc, một hành động luôn luôn đúng và giống như là một chân lý không bao giờ sai.
Ví dụ: IF you don’t drink water in three days, you die.
Công thức câu điều kiện loại 0
- Ở câu điều kiện loại 0, hai vế đều chia thì hiện tại đơn
→ if + mệnh đề (ở thì hiện tại đơn), mệnh đề (ở thì hiện tại đơn).
2. Câu điều kiện loại 1
Cách sử dụng:
- Câu điều kiện loại 1 diễn tả sự cho phép.
Ví dụ: If you finish the homework, you can go home late.
- Câu điều kiện diễn tả một đề nghị, yêu cầu, mệnh lệnh hay sự khuyên bảo.
Ví dụ: If you want to become a good student, you should study hard.
- Diễn tả một sự việc có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai.
Ví dụ: If he has enough money, he will buy a new house.
- Diễn tả một kết quả tất yếu.
Ví dụ: If you don’t study hard, you won’t pass the exam.
- Sự việc có thể xảy ra nhưng rất hiếm.
Ví dụ: If I should find any dust on the chair, I will slap your face (với những trường hợp này, thì sau if bạn nên dùng thêm “Should”)
- Dùng trong hiện tại hoàn thành.
Ví dụ: If you have finished the report, let’s go for a walk.
Công thức câu điều kiện loại 1
If Mệnh đề( ở thì hiện tại đơn), Will/ can/ may/ should + Vnguyên mẫu
If I study hard, I will pass the exam.
Lưu ý: nếu IF nằm ở đâu câu thì ta dùng dấu phẩy ngăn cách 2 vế. Nếu If nằm ở giữa câu ta sẽ không dùng dấu phẩy.
Ví dụ 1: If I study hard, I will pass the exam.
Ví dụ 2: I will pass the exam if I will study hard.
